Not to get into nitty-gritty stuff mentioned in the posts above, I believe if one can get up around 2am and do abhyaas, paath and possibly wrap up one's amritvela with Siri Asa kee Vaar Kirtan, it is great. Singhs recommend doing at least 2.25 hours of Naam Abhyaas at amritvela. Who ever is doing this sewa is for parmaarath sake. More sugar we put, more sweet it will be. Stronger the amritvela, more paath and simran we do, better our spiritual lives will be.

<<<< why its very important that amritdharis do loud naam abhiyaas of 2.5-3 hours at amritvela >>>>

Loud naam abhyaas is for us beginners. As you keep doing Naam Simran then automatically the loudness becomes less and less until only the lips are moving. Further still, the lips stop moving and the simran is done with ones rusna within. Aatmic Naam goes inwards and for those whose avastaa is really high it never stops, it is always going on inside.

I still maintain that rather then get too dogged down in timings in Alaska,New Zealand or Western Samoa - get up 2.00 am, ishnaan, Naam/Simran ..... job done.
