how should one go about reading bhai gurdaas jee's vaaran?
it is said that they are the key to understanding gurbani, so if one has a desire to understand gurbani, is reading the vaaran enough? or should they be studied in greater depth?

in my personal opinion Bhai Gurdaas jee's vaaran, Bhai nand laal jee's writing are GREAT and shud be read BUT they are not DHUR DE BANI. Gurbani is complete and as one japps naam and reads gurbani, one gets to know the meanings automatically.
How does a child learn mother tongue??? Nobody teaches him but he still learns.right!
Same way a pakkaa honest rehitvaan sikh learns Gurdev Mata Gurdev Pitaa's bani.
The akhar from the mouth of the mouth of MAHA PURAKH are AGAMMM and no other akhars can match them.
