I feel any person who is ready to
1. not commit bajjar kurehits and now bow his head before anyone other than Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj shud be given amrit.
Even if the person does not know gurmukhi or cannot do nitnem, he shud be given amrit as the main thing is Gurmantar, then comes mool mantarr.
Yes after giving such a person amrit, he can be provided with a teacher to make him learn gurmukhi and lareevar reading.
