- re: the the last panktee - ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ; ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥ - is that the right place for the bishraam?

also the translation given is:

"O Lord Har Har lead me to meet the Guru the Greatest Being;
through the Name of Guru Nanak I have found peace".

why can it not be:

"O Lord Har Har lead me to meet the Guru the Greatest Being;
through Guru Nanak's Naam (i.e. Gurmat Naam/Gurmantr) I have found peace".

or perhaps this is what the translation is actually inferring and i haven't realised. at first sight i thought the translation seemed to be literally talking about 1st Mehl Sahib's name as opposed to gurmantr but perhaps it is referring to gurmantr after all.

any thoughts sadh-sangat jeeo?

ਹੇ ਹਰੀ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਲ ਦੇਵੋ; ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ (ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਹੋਏ) ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ‘ਨਾਨਕ’ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਮੋਹਰ ਛਾਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਕਥਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਢੁਕਵੇਂ ਅਰਥ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ਨਾਲ ‘ਨਾਨਕ’ ਲਿਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਅਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਐਰਾ ਗੈਰਾ ਨਥੂ ਖੈਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਬਲਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਾਕੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਜਾਣੇ ਭਾਈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

In the light of the above we can safely assume that it is definitly Naam Gurmantr bestowed by Guru Nanak Dev jee, that Guru Sodhi Paatshah is referring to here.
