I heard some wonderful shabads from Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani the other day and wanted to know which bani they were from.

I have checked Jaap Sahib, Akal Ustat, Bachittar Natak, the three Chandi di vaars and they are not there.

This is the shabad that starts off Chaupai Sahib in Rehras sahib.

2. Lank loot li ahoo (also includes the tukh : Mayro naao Guru Gobind Singh.......

Any info would be greatfully received.

Bundha Ji,

are from another Chaupai from Sri Dasam Granth, they occure before .

The version printed in the Taksali Gutkas is not complete with the full verses of this entire Chaupai.

See Buddha Dal Gutka for the entire Chaupai. Keep in mind, this Chaupai is different from the Chaupai Sahib we read in Nitnem and in Amrit-Sanchars.

Here are the entire verses of this Chaupai for the benefit of others:

(2) I beleive, these tuks are also in the Budha Dal Gutka, I don't have it available now to note exactly which Bani those tuks are from. Perhaps some other Gurmukh can look this up.

Veer ji, the first couplet, i believe is from either ram avtar or krishna avtar. The second one i dont know. I guggest you get dasam granth translations by surinder singh kohli. Its better to understand em in english as various languages have been used in the dasam granth. Its an endless ocean of knowledge really.

Thanks,

I shall make an effort to learn this chaupai to memory as it is brilliant.

The second shabad again is great, I don't have the full translation but one can make out the Guru Sahib Ji says that if He wanted to He could overrun Sri Lanak and the amazing thisng is Guru Ji says - I would not fight, nor would my legions fight , it also mentions Iran and Kurasaam.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji didnt fight any "aggressive war"..and neither did Guru Hargobind Sahib ji.
ALL their "wars" were DEFENSIVE.
Thus there is no question of "over-running" anything...Guru Ji was not here to conquer/over run nations or acquire lands....

Gyani Ji,

I think you misunderstand, we know that Guru Sahib Ji were never aggresive to anyone, even the Pahadi Rajas misunderstood Guru Sahib Ji, but if you look at the shabad, Guru Ji is saying that.... if He wanted to he could.

"2. Lank loot li ahoo (also includes the tukh : Mayro naao Guru Gobind Singh....... "

This is from one of Bhai Nand Lal Ji's conversations (questions by Bhai Nand Lal Ji) with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It is in the writings of Bhai Nand Lal Ji.

Koi,

thanks for that, I have the complete works of Bhai Nand Lal Ji. Any idea which part this shabad is in?

One of the last 'namas' has a composition by Bhai Nand Lal Ji that makes it absolutely clear that Guru Nanak Dev Ji - Guru Gobind Singh Ji were Akal Saroop.
