We would like to take this opportunity to clarify our stand on advertising programs.
Previously we have said we do not generally approve posts for programs as we have had problems with people questioning why we were supporting certain programs. Sitting abroad at times we do not always have the correct facts in front of us so we preferred not to approve any programs.

Having said this we still noticed that there seems to be a lot of posts that come for approval regarding programs. We now feel that having a blanket ban on all programs will not be right as we still advertise our own Gurdwara programs. However if we were to approve any programs this will still send out a message that we support what they are doing.

The main reasons for starting Gurdwara Tapoban Sahib was to preserve and promote Guru Jee’s maryada that was disappearing from the Panth. The most important maryada that was disappearing in the Panth was Guru Jee’s Larreevar Saroop.

So therefore we have made a simple rule that if the advertised program was to occur in Guru Jee’s Darbar then that program will have to include the most important maryada in Guru Jee’s Darbar that being the Larreevaar Saroop of Guru Jee.
Programs outside Guru Jee’s Darbar i.e. rallies, demonstrations etc will be approved on their Gurmat/Panthic merits.

This probably will not be the most popular rule but we prefer not be popular.
There are numerous other sites where you could advertise your programs and it will not make much difference in the attendance of your program.

On a side note we would also like to point out that we seem to receive a lot of 1 line posts which we tend not to approve as these posts don't really serve any purpose. We are not here to count votes on who supports what view or not. If you have something to say then please explain yourselves.

We will not allow this forum to be a medium for idle gossip.

We hope the Sangat will understand our view point.
