The following pankiti caught my attention:

Ek boond Gur Amrit deeno taa Attal Amar na mooya || (Ang 612)
(Guru gave me one drop of Amrit and this has made me immovable (i.e. not coming in joonis i.e. not getting into birth and death), eternally alive, and I will now not die).

Have a look at the last two words of this pankiti. If we do paath without thinking and doing vichaar, high chances are that we would say “Amar na mooya”. If we do paath like this, then the meanings would be “I am now neither Amar (eternally living) nor mooya (dead)”. This would be doing disaster meanings. The correct meanings are “I am now eternally alive, and I will not die”.

In order to derive correct meanings, one must place the bisraam (or jamkee) after “Amar”. It would be “….taa Attal Amar, na mooya||”.

More messages of the above nature to follow in the coming days.

Daas,
Kulbir Singh
