We're jumping way ahead of ourselves here. The first thing is to do parchaar of lareevar. Many people don't even know what this is, much less accept it. Replacing sarroops is a long ways away. I also don't personally like the term destroy. We shouldn't use that term for anything that contains gurbanee, in any form. But like I said, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Learn to do paat in Lareedhar, do parchar of this and teach others. That is the first step.
Incidentally, I've heard from my parents that back many decades ago, rather than doing saskaar of old saroops, in some places worn saroops would be placed inside the gumad atop the building. This was particularly the case in villages. Has anybody else heard about this practice? Might this mean that there may still be older gurdvaray with puratan saroops stored away in the gumad?
