WJKK WJKF!

Das has been conducting some research recently and has found that according to historial family trees Sri Sache Paadshah Satguru Hargobind Sahib and Sri Sache Paadshah Satguru Gobind Singh Ji both had more than one wife.

Is this really the case? Please share you thoughts.

Fateh!

Yes all old manuscripts related to Sikhi point to this but new scholars like Professor Sahib Singh have written that Guru Sahibaan had only one wife each. Different scholars have different views on this. It really does not matter either way. We are supposed to follow the hukams of Guru Sahib and not emulate their living. Siri Guru Gobind Singh jee used to wear a Kalgi and dressed up like Kings. We can't start wearing kalgi for this reason.

In order to prevent us from emulating Guru Sahib there is a pankiti that goes as follows:

Gur Kahiya sa Kaar Kamavo||
Gur kee Karni Kaahe Dhaavo||
Nanak, Gurmat Saach Samaavo||

What Guru instructs, do that.
Don't try to do what the Guru himself does.
(Obeying this) through Gurmat, you will merge in Vaheguru (Saach).

Daas,
Kulbir Singh

Someone once asked Swami Vivekanand "Is it right to have blind faith?". He replied "Yes, provided the one you have faith in isn't blind". Our Guru is the one who gives eyes to blind ones. It would be a blessing to follow such a Guru blindly without using any mat of our own. But alas we always doubt and question.
