In recent days, the SGPC has made some very positive moves that should be noted and welcomed.

S. Avtar Singh Makkar has sent a directive to all managers of historical gurdwara sahibs that henceforth, parkash of laridaar saroop should be done. This is a good step in returning laridaar saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib to the Panth after Maharaj's true saroop was almost forgotten and ignored. This is a befitting way of celebrating the 300th Gurgaddi Divas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

On behalf of Gurdwara Tapoban Sahib, we welcome this move by the SGPC.

Hopefully now the paati singhs will have to take santhia and read shudh ucharan

Readers of bani do not do correct ucharan of Bani as the print stands now. Reading larridaar bani will be like taking a step back and will cause much cofusion and controversy in time to come. There will be no control over the correctness of recited Bani.

Bad move but all in the intrest and favour of SGPC.

ਜੈਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਣੀਦਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਮੈ ਡੀਠੁ ॥
As I have heard of the True Guru, so I have seen Him.

ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਕਾ ਬਸੀਠੁ ॥
He re-unites the separated ones with God; He is the Mediator at the Court of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਦਾ ਕਟੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
He implants the Mantra of the Lord's Name, and eradicates the illness of egotism.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਧੁਰੇ ਪਇਆ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, he alone meets the True Guru, who has such union pre-ordained. ||1||

Readers of gurbani that have santhia do not correct the print however they do the correct paat and dont do the one that is in print, i.e. they remember and have done abhiyaas of bani for them to know what the mukh padd chedd is.

Truly that is step back from manmat. Again it proves OLD IS GOLD. Gurbani was given GURUSHIP in larridaar form and then Dasam Patshah called it

PARGAT GURA(N) KEE DEH

Now doing Padd shed of Pargat Gura (n) ki deh means we chopped the Angs (parts) of Guru Sahib. No doubt the chopped Deh is still of Guru and still has same respect but we are already paying a high price for chopping off according to our mat. Now question about reading difficulties yes, initially there is difficulty but if we have faith in Guru Sahib he will shower his grace how to read.

We would like to share the example of a non Panjabi decent Gursikh here who is not even born in an Indian family. Recently in India we had Akhand Path Sahib from larridaar saroop. This Singh did the raul of 4 hours and we are amazed how beautifully he did the PAATH with a pace and each and every word crystal clear even though his accent was little different than Punjabi accent. Now if a non Panjabi background Sikh can read from larridar Saroop fluently then why not a Panjabi decent Sikh? If you want to have Darshan of that Singh go to KUMAR HATTI and see.

ਹੁਣ ਜੇਕਰ ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਦੋਤੁਕੀ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋ ਲੜੀਵਾਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਠ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ ਨਹੀ ਲੈ ਸਕਦਾ। ਨਹੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਜਨਬੀ ਜੀ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਾਂਗ ਪੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਏ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂ ਬਿਪਰਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਬਸ ਰੁਮਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਪੇਟ ਮੁਰਤੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾਂ ਭਰਮ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਹੈਣ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਣੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਝ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਨੇ, ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਨੇ।

So, Lets all Sikh come together and join together to accept the very holly Guru Jagat Guru SAHIB SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE in its very holiest form as Larridaar as ordained by Dasam Nanak Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji.

"premature celebration" ??

I read in the News today..that Makkar Sahib has backtracked and denied any such moves....
Imho the present SGPC being in the pocket of Badal cannot be really expected to do any reforms..whatever Badal (senior or junior or even wives ) says GOES.

Just see how the daughter in law is collecting rations for Badal Party workers rallies under guise of Rations for Guru Ka Langgar Darbar sahib. When in Sikh History has the Guru ramdass Langgar ever run short or needed langgar collections ??
imho may be pessimistic..but nothing positive can come from this heavily politicised SGPC.

2. ALL my Gurbani students begin paath on pad-chhed BUT Graduate in LareeDaar..and not a single one has complained about any difficulty. the alleged difficulty is a myth...self created and self perpetuated....like many who "completed" paaths but when we ask them to participate in Akhand Paath Raols...suddenly they get chiken feet..and cannot do Akahnd Paath...eventually settling down to "sehaj paath" instead of the much advertised Akhand Paath !! imho such are products of "instant Paathees"...Real dedication - on students part and teachers part are necessary ingredients.
