VAHEGUROOJEEKAKHALSA VAHEGUROOJEEKEEFATEH

it is not difficult to read for long periods of time.
a bibi asked me why it was easy to read Harry Potter for hours on end
but difficult to read Gurbani for the same amount of time.
what does the sangat think?

shameful really. im no better.

If a normal individual is given a book on Physics, Chemistry or Economics, he will not be able to enjoy reading it. An Economist will enjoy a book on Economics and a Physicist will devour a book on Physics. Similarly a Bhagat enjoys doing Paath and Japping Naam. Our mind, from ages, and many lives, has been engaging in maya and it will take time for our mann (mind) to fall in love with Gurbani. As our mann gets soft by reading Gurbani and Naam, it will be able to derive more pleasure from Gurbani.

Even if our mann does not derive pleasure from reading baani, we should still continue to do Paath and Japp Naam. Guru Sahib will surely bless his true seekers with Anand (rass).

You do realise that in punjabi it is pronounced " Hari Puttar " - Son of God.

That is a very good statement. Its true that its hard to read bani for long periods.

I find it soo much easier to read bani in sangat, this is a way of maximizing the fruits of the gurbani. So to be able to read bani for a long time i think its best to read it in sangat.
