The words used for that i.e fiery spirit and anger are completely and utterly false words in the eyes of a Gurmukh and in the light of Gurmat. Although, I do understand what you are talking about. Like we have Amrit Ras, which overflows in the tank of the Gurmukhs deep within, so we have something called Bir Ras, which also overflows with the might of the pure spiritual warrior.

Those who continually chant the Ambrosial Words of Nectar see and behold this Amrit everywhere with their eyes.

Bir Ras is the warrior essence, but it does not bring any anger out at all! Only gurmukhs get this warriorness imbued in them. Thats why Singhs in the olden days fought with so much vigour and valour, they had Bir Ras in them and let it free out whilst they were fighting the enemy on the battle field, they were never 'angry' these Singhs and Singhnees because they had total control over anger, which is one of the 5 evils. This subject is a difficult one to describe, but I hope you do understand what I mean, rather, what Guru Sahib means. If Singhs did not have Bir Ras then they would have went crazy on the battlefield - most probably, because Bir Ras is a very controlled sort of Fiery. The kind that the TRUE warriors have, the true of warriors of the TRUE guru. Bir Ras is part of the concept of Sant-Sipahi, Saint-Soldier. The Sant part of it is Amrit Ras, most ecstatic, the Sipahi part is the Bir Ras. The word 'Bir Ras' can be translated as Bir = Soldier/Warrior Ras = Flavour, Warrior Flavour that is unleashed when need be. That is why you get names such as Dalbir - Dal meaning Army, Bir meaning Warrior, hence, it means True warrior of the army.

O Nanak, he is a brave warrior, who conquers and subdues his vicious inner ego.

All of Gurbani is able to answer any questions, if you look thoroughly and if you look deep within the message, although, it is good that you read Gurbani first, although you must contemplate on it. All meassages are deep within your ownself where Vaheguru himself resides on his splendorous throne of Compassion! Although, Banis like Jaap Sahib and other Banis of Dasam Granth and Guru Gobind Singh can bring out Bir Ras. The most well known paat to bring out the Ras is Chandi Di Vaar. Singhs used to read this especially before going into battle to unleash the True hidden warrior inside. But, never the less, ALL gurbani is capable of doing absoloutly ANYTHING if you put your mind to it and go into the depths of its beauty and thoroughly contemplate on it, once Guru Sahibs message is with you, it can never leave for a moment, it is such that one gets addicted to it in a ecstatic way, and it is almost impossible to let it go of it. Obviously, this sort of state can only come to those who are Amritdharee and true seekers of a spiritual life of engrossenment in the Divine love of Vaheguru!

When the arrow of the Lord's Love pierces his body, then his doubt is eradicated. ||1||
