vaheguroojeekakhalsa
vaheguroojeekeefateh!

I was wondering if someone could give me a translation of the Gurbani that is recited by Bhai Tejinderpal Singh Jee at the beginning of this track.

http://www.ikirtan.com/Akhand_Kirtan_Smagams/00_Vancouver_May_2004/11_May_21_Evening_Kirtan/Bhai_Tejinderpal_Singh_Jee_Friday_Night_Kirtan_Vancouver_Smagam_May_2004.mp3

It starts off with Murshdae Har Cheezmae Bashud Basae..

I have looked on Sikhitothemax and I cannot find this Gurbani anywhere. My guess is that it is from Dasam Granth Sahib.
If someone could please lead me to the translation I would be very grateful.

dear dogma,

thank you for inspiring me to learn.

i don't know anything. this is all grace of guru and thanks to a gift from bhai bhupender singh jee in delhi who sent me bhai nand lal granthavali by prof. ganda singh.

you will find the verses that bhai tejinderpal singh jee sang in bhai sahib bhai nand lal (singh) jee's Jindageenaamaa

__________________________

the first part is couplet number 417:

VERSE: murshad(i) har cheez mee baashd basae

punjabi explanation: har vasthoo dae murshad bhaavae(n) anayk han

english explanation: granted all things have some worldly creator

VERSE: murshad(i) kaamil kujaa yaabad kasae

punjabi explanation: pranthoo pooraa sath(i)guroo kado(n) kisae noo(n) mildaa hai?

english explanation: but the true enlightener, the real creator, when and to whom does he bless his union?

__________________________

the second part is couplet number 454

VERSE: murshad(i) kaamil eilaaj(i) dil kunad

punjabi explanation: pooran sath(i)guroo dil dae rog door kardaa hai

english explanation: the pure and perfect true enlightener gives the cure to all the heart's problems

VERSE: eee(n) muraad(i) dil badil haasil kunad

punjabi explanation: jis naal dil dee kaamnaa dil vich hee prapath ho jaandee hai

english explanation: with which the satisfaction of the desires of the heart become fulfilled within the heart

(the guru gives you such a cure to your psychological desires that without actually having to live out your desires and solve your problems, your heart understands them to be fulfilled, or loses the desire for their fulfillment because of attachment to naam only, and as such you lose your worries and pains)

the third part is couplet number 416:

VERSE: naam bae murshad miaa var bad jubaa(n)

punjabi explanation: guroo tho(n) binaa(n) hor kisae daa jaap naa kar

english explanation: do not contemplate in meditation the mantra of anyone but the Guru

VERSE: murshad(i) kaamil dihad az hakk nishaa(n)

punjabi explanation: pooraa sath(i)guroo hee sachae rabb daa pathaa dae sakdaa hai

english explanation: the pure and perfect true enlightener is the only one who can tell you where and how to have union with God

After that, Bhai Tejinderpal SIngh jee sings the following shabad:

jis miliai man hoe ana(n)dh so sathigur keheeai ||

Meeting Him, the mind is filled with bliss. He is called the True Guru.

man kee dhubidhhaa binas jaae har param padh leheeai ||1||

Double-mindedness departs, and the supreme status of the Lord is obtained. ||1||

_____________________________________

This is a beautiful introduction to the shabad that Bhai Sahib sings:

naaraaein narapath namasakaarai ||

The one who bows in humble reverence to the Primal Lord, the Lord of all beings

aisae gur ko bal bal jaaeeai aap mukath mohi thaarai ||1|| rehaao ||

- I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to such a Guru; He Himself is liberated, and He carries me across as well. ||1||Pause||
