pyararee saad sangath jee, i was wondering does one have to have a sarbloh kirpan and sarbloh kara?
does coated sarbloh matter

Yes, the kirpan and kara have to be of sarbloh. Sarbloh has a very strong relationship with Naam and we shud try to wear as much sarbloh as possible on our body.
Regarding coating, I am totally against it. Basically nickel etc coating is done to save iron from rusting but doing seva of rusted iron is a very fruitful experience and sometimes I feel doing seva of sarbloh kicks ones Naam abhiyaas too.
