Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,

Dear Sangat Ji,

Can anyone provide some clarity on the following question?:

For those souls other than the ones who are mukat through sabad kamaayee, how long does it take the soul after death, when marched by jamdoots to reach Dharam Rai's court?

Many thanks.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

For those who are not Jeewan Mukht the Yam Dhoots some to get them. The worse the person has been, the longer and more painful the journey is. For those who are Jeewan Mukht, the Yam Dhoots do not come to get them. They are already one with Waheguru and they can go when and how they want. In Gurbaani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, there is a shabad where Dharam Rai warns his Dhoots not to go near a true disciple of the Lord.

The shabad where Dharam Rai warns his doots to not go near Gursikhs is:

Jeh Saadhu Gobind Bhajan Kirtan Nanak Neet||
Naa hau, anaa tu naa chhotai, nikat na jaaeeo doot||

(O Jamdooths, where Saadhoos of Gobind, do bhajan and kirtan everyday, never go there; if you go there, then neither you, nor I will be saved from punishment).

As for the original question regarding how long it takes manmukhs to reach Dharam Rai after death, has many answers. Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh has written that one's hisaab-kitaab (accountability) is done on the 17th day after death. Some say it takes one year to reach there. The relevant thing to understand here is that this journey is very painful for manmukhs and only one's who have Naam can complete this journey easily.

Depending on the mauj of Guru Sahib, many Bhagats do go to Dharam Khand in the court of Dharam Rai. It's written in Gurbani that Dharam Rai gives them great honour and respect when they reach there. The Gursikhs who have Naam dee kaamaayee are recognized the special nishaan (glow) on their forehead. One's who have this glow are honoured in the next world. Their records are deleted prior to their reaching the court and for this reason no one can hold them there any longer and they respectfully ascend to the next level.

Where can I get it?
