Just got news from India that Vedanti has resigned.

Could anyone confirm and clarify known reasons for the resignation??

Apparently Giani Gurbachan Singh is lined up to be next Jathedar!!!

It's very unfortunate that Sikh kaum lost yet another Vidvaan. May Guru Sahib strengthen the Vedanti sahib to continue the seva of Sikh kaum with Nishkaam bhavana and without any fear from so called leaders? Jathedaar Sahib has great qualities which includes his scholarly knowledge about Gurbani and its Ucharan so we feel he should focus on those fields to continue his companion Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara's work. Removal of Jathedaars showed the greater influence of dirty politics on Sikh kaum. We think Sarbat Khalsa is thing of the past now. No one cares about this any more. In that situation more n more khuarri is on the way.

It seems like vedanti was removed due to his recent stance on political issues, including his khalistan speech in NY, which did not follow SGPCs political agenda. I guess Gyani Gurbachan Singh has agreed to become a slave of those who are trying to keep the panth gulaam. Hopefully I am wrong and Gyani Gurbachan Singh stands up for what is true and just.
