We would like to apologise to our readers on this forum for not being able to update the site this week. This is due to the fact that part of the admin team has been involved in doing seva of Akhand Paath Sahib in the U.K. Hopefully everything should be back to normal in a couple of days.

We were surprised to see so much enthusiasm from Gursikhs to hear Gurbanee. Most of these Gursikhs had travelled from far and wide to enjoy Gurbanee. We did not expect so many GurSikhs as no one was specifically told to attend and there were various other programs on at the same time.

The Akhand Paath was carried out with Gurmat Asools. Langar was made and served in Sarbloh. The bhog was at Amrit vela on Sunday, the atmosphere at the time was indescribable. The room was full with no where to sit which made it more vibrant only those that were there can really appreciate what I am saying. We managed to do Anand Sahib on the Vaja without Jooree, this raised the bliss further. Guru Jee then did Aapaar Kirpa and gave the following Hukhamnama

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁਮਹਲਾ੫ ॥

ਅਪਣੇਬਾਲਕਆਪਿਰਖਿਅਨੁਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
ਸੁਖਸਾਂਤਿਸਹਜਆਨਦਭਏਪੂਰਨਭਈਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਭਗਤਜਨਾਕੀਬੇਨਤੀਸੁਣੀਪ੍ਰਭਿਆਪਿ ॥
ਰੋਗਮਿਟਾਇਜੀਵਾਲਿਅਨੁਜਾਕਾਵਡਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੧॥
ਦੋਖਹਮਾਰੇਬਖਸਿਅਨੁਅਪਣੀਕਲਧਾਰੀ ॥
ਮਨਬਾਂਛਤਫਲਦਿਤਿਅਨੁਨਾਨਕਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੮੦॥

Asaa Dee Vaar was done followed by Akhand Keertan. This went on till after 2.00pm. The keertan went for longer than any ones expectations as no special keertaneea were called and the keertan was Kantagaar.

The feedback from Gursikhs that attended was that they felt that the Anand enjoyed from this smagaam was very hard to match. Both my self and the Parvar would like to apologise for any shortcomings and beg to have darshan of such Gursikhs again.

Below are some pictures from this smagaam (Unfortunately there were no pictures of the actual Akhand Paath)

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Atma Singh Ji,

Can you me tell me if the Singh on the far right of the top left picture is Jasminder Singh? He used to live in Slough, and I lost touch with him about 7 years ago.

If so, can you please ask him to contact me at (inderjit.singh@gmail.com)

Thanks

Inderjit Singh

Guru Piayario Jios,

Its no surprise that when Gurbanee Paath is read out with Love and Pyaar..then the sangat enjoys it. What happens in ordinary programs is that neither side is very interested...the Parivaar that arranges the akhand paath is more into mehmaan niwazee of the guests..than the paath..and the pathees then sense this and begin to hurry and do it as fast as possible to get it over with. A very attentive sangat makes the pathee feel very much wanted..he then tries to read Gurbanee as well as he can and should..both then enjoy the rass. A person i most miss during akhand paaths was my dad who knew the entire Guru Garnth ji in memory and he could catch any wrong word/pronunciation instantly..and would go through the instances after the raol was over...and secondly there used to be a lady who would sit throughout the entire 48 hours - just lying down briefly here and then..and she would RECITE loudly along with the pathee...that kept the rass juices flowing..in my raol i used to love that feeling of comraderie..sadly she passed away from old age some years back.
If nayone is not convinced just read about the Akhand Paaths Bhai sahib bhai randheer Singh ji used to do....what strict rehit, rules, ishnaans etc of the pathis were followed and i am sure the sangats played an equal part in listening actively. Sdaly many now have an Akhand paath just for appearances sake..and the paid pathees also do raols like badhe chatee bhareh..they are looking forward tot he Bhog when they can collect their bheta and disappear..I believe any parivar doing apaath should also take part as pathees...or at least listen to paath as much as possible even taking turns..
